INDIA IN SPACE ( PART-5 )

INDIAN SATELLITES AND ROCKETS :

                                AFTER THE FAILURE OF INSAT 4C, INSAT 4CR ( WEIGHING 2140 KG ) SATELLITE WAS LAUNCHED SUCCESSFULLY ON SEPTEMBER 2007.TILL THAT GSLV CARRIED SATELLITES OF WEIGHT 2 TONNES.LATER ON INDIA TRIED IN LAUNCHING SATELLITES WEIGHING 4 TONNES TO 9 TONNES.

                                              AS INDIA WAS GETTING CRYOGENIC ENGINES FROM RUSSIA SHE ALSO STARTED WORKING TO PRODUCE HER OWN CRYOGENIC ENGINES.THE SELF PRODUCTION OF CRYOGENIC ENGINES WAS STARTED MAHENDRAGIRI,TAMILNADU.THE PLAN WAS STARTED ON 1993.INDIA ALSO HAS DESIGNED GSLV3 MODEL.THE FINAL STAGE OF GSLV3 WILL BE CARRYING 25 TONNES OF CRYOGENIC FUEL.THIS HAS HIGH CAPACITY,SO THIS TYPE OF ROCKET CAN CARRY A SATELLITE WEIGHING 4 TONNES.


                                                IN OUR WORLD ONLY 6 COUNTRIES WERE LAUNCHING HEAVY WEIGHING SATELLITES.THEY ARE RUSSIA,AMERICA,EUROPE SPACE AGENCY,CHINA,JAPAN AND THEN INDIA.11 SATELLITES LIKE INSAT 2E,INSAT 3A,INSAT 3B,INSAT 3C,INSAT 3E,INSAT 4A,INSAT 4B,INSAT 4CR,KALPANA,GSAT-2 AND EDUSAT WERE PLACED IN SPACE FACING INDIA.THESE ARE ALL GEOSTATIONARY SATELLITES.
